The Bernheim Center for Health and Harmony is only a place in the sense that it is where people sit down together to pull thought into understanding and action.
In reality, it is every place – especially every natural place where the order of nature is preserved and healthy.
The wisdom of nature is ancient, tested, vast and mostly beyond our knowledge. But what good is that library of knowledge if we fail to apply it, even imperfectly?
The Center brings people together in conversation to promote ways of exploring and applying the principles of nature to our everyday living. All human endeavors are healthier when that becomes our practice.
Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest’s mission is to connect people with nature. It is the largest privately held forest block in the eastern United States and includes more than 14,500 acres in Bullitt and Nelson counties. Through the natural systems services represented by these natural areas we provide a remarkable benefit to this region in terms of ecological and economic health.
